Throne of Grace

Dealing with the hardships of life

Throne of Grace

Hebrews 4:14-16 New Living Translation

Christ Is Our High Priest

14 So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. 15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. 16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

6 Truths about the hardships of life

1.    Difficult and painful times are going to happen.

2.    Difficult and painful times are no respecter of persons.

a.    Rains on the just and the unjust

3.    Difficult and painful times do not go unnoticed by God

a.    He knows our needs

b.    He knows our sorrow

4.    Jesus has been where you are

   Hebrews 4:14-16 14Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens,[a] Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are was without sin. 16Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

5.    God is still on the Throne

.    Psalm 45:6 Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.

6.    Strength Will Return

    Isaiah 40:28-32 (New International Version)

 28 Do you not know?

      Have you not heard?

      The LORD is the everlasting God,

      the Creator of the ends of the earth.

      He will not grow tired or weary,

      and his understanding no one can fathom.

 29 He gives strength to the weary

      and increases the power of the weak.

 30 Even youths grow tired and weary,

      and young men stumble and fall;

 31 but those who hope in the LORD

      will renew their strength.

      They will soar on wings like eagles;

      they will run and not grow weary,

      they will walk and not be faint.

 Psalm 130:5 (New International Version)

       5 I wait for the LORD, my soul waits,

       and in his word I put my hope.

Psalm 40

 1 I waited patiently for the LORD;

      he turned to me and heard my cry.

 2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,

      out of the mud and mire;

      he set my feet on a rock

      and gave me a firm place to stand.

 3 He put a new song in my mouth,

      a hymn of praise to our God.

      Many will see and fear

      and put their trust in the LORD.

 4 Blessed is the man

      who makes the LORD his trust,

      who does not look to the proud,

      to those who turn aside to false gods.
