Overcoming Impossibilities
Key Verses: Mark 4:35-41, Matthew 19:16, Luke 1:37
Mark 4:38-41(NLT) “Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher don’t you care if we drown.” He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be Still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him?”
Point #1 - Decide what your go-to is
Psalms 34:17-18 (NLT) “The Lord hears his people when they call to Him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”
Point #2 - Realize it's spiritual
Ephesians 6:12 (NLT), “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”
2 Corinthians 10:3-4 “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.”
Ephesians 6:10 “be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.”
1 John 4:4 “You belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory….because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.”
Point #3 - Overcoming despite the outcome
Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
