It is important to believe and spread the Good News

Fear is the biggest reason we don’t share.

Compelling reasons people believe

1.      The Uniqueness of the Bible

How could anyone ever plan a book out over the span of 1500 years

from 40 authors and hope to have any continuity?

2.      Prophecies Fulfilled in Jesus

a.      (1) Born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2) – 1 in 2,800

b.      (2) Betrayed for 30 pieces of silver (Zechariah 11:12-13) – 1 in 1,000

c.      (3) Crucifixion (Psalm 22:16) – 1 in 10,000

d.      (4) Hands and feet pierced (Psalm 22:16) – 1 in 10,000

e.      (5) Born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14) – 1 in 100,000

f.       (6) Riding into Jerusalem on a donkey (Zechariah 9:9) – 1 in 100

g.      (7) Silent before accusers (Isaiah 53:7) – 1 in 1,000

h.      (8) Buried in a rich man's tomb (Isaiah 53:9) – 1 in 1,000.

3.      The Evidence for the Resurrection of Jesus

4.      Archaeological Evidence

5.      The Miracles

These reasons are not YOUR story.

Jesus had a clear purpose, so do we

1. Some have blind eyes but hearts that see

When you’re on your last leg seek Jesus

Matthew 9:27–31 (NLT)

Jesus Heals the Blind

27 After Jesus left the girl’s home, two blind men followed along behind him, shouting,

“Son of David, have mercy on us!”

28 They went right into the house where he was staying, and

Jesus deals in serious problems

We each must answer the question “Do you believe…”

Jesus asked them, “Do you believe I can make you see?”

“Yes, Lord,” they told him, “we do.”

Faith is always a key

29 Then he touched their eyes and said, “Because of your faith, it will happen.”

30 Then their eyes were opened, and they could see!

Serious mistake-“loose lips sink ships”

Jesus sternly warned them, “Don’t tell anyone about this.”

31 But instead, they went out and spread his fame all over the region.

Jesus was looking for followers not fame

What motivates Jesus to do to bless us? Compassion.

2. Some have eyes that see but hearts that are blind

Jesus is the real Miracle Worker

Matthew 9:32–34 (NLT)

32 When they left, a demon-possessed man who couldn’t speak was brought to Jesus.

33 So Jesus cast out the demon, and then the man began to speak. The crowds were amazed. “Nothing like this has ever happened in Israel!” they exclaimed.

34 But the Pharisees said, “He can cast out demons because he is empowered by the prince of demons.”

The best step is to bring people to Jesus

3. Some have compassion and some do not

Jesus was always on the move

Matthew 9:35–38 (NLT)

35 Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area,

teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom.

And he healed every kind of disease and illness.

36 When he saw the crowds, he had COMPASSION on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

37 He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. 38 So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”
