Four Questions
Question #1 (vv.13-14) – Who Do Men Say I am?
Matthew 11:19 (ESV) — 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.”
John 7:20 (ESV) — 20 The crowd answered,
“You have a demon! Who is seeking to kill you?”
Their silence on negative is a good lesson for us
Some thought He was John the Baptist
Matthew 14:2 (ESV) — 2 and he said to his servants, “This is John the Baptist. He has been raised from the dead; that is why these miraculous powers are at work in him.”
Some thought he was Elijah
Question #2 (vv. 15:17) Who do you say I am?
“But who say ye that I am?”
Peter speaks: “Thou are the Christ…”
